I’m finally posting some film images from our vacation to Martha’s Vineyard in September! \u00a0With work and being pregnant I let some things go and blogging was one of them, I was just too tired. \u00a0But I’m back for the new year and I hope you have been enjoying some new posts!<\/p>\n

First things first as I said in Friday’s post<\/a> I haven’t shot film before, do not have a light meter and was really just experimenting. \u00a0I have to say it was refreshing to not worry about taking photos and relax for our vacation, not to mention carrying around camera gear can heavy! \u00a0If I wanted a digital photo I just used my phone:) \u00a0It was interesting to see what images came back alright, which were really out of focus and which could have been better exposure wise. \u00a0All in all I’m happy to look back and remember our vacation with these photos- who wants to look at 547 photos of someones vacation anyway?<\/p>\n

Shooting film was very freeing to me and I can’t pinpoint exactly why. \u00a0I just felt more relaxed, in the moment(not watching my vacation flash before me in my view finder) and there was no pressure to “get the perfect shot”. \u00a0I got what I got. \u00a0I think I may purchase a Canon film camera so I can use my own lenses which I am used too. \u00a0The Pentax has different functions and it was a bit hard for me to get used to them. These images have no editing done except to clone out some dust in 2 images, other wise they are straight from the camera, scanned and developed at the Indie Film Lab.<\/p>\n

This was the driveway of the house we rented. \u00a0We actually stayed on Chappaquiddick which is a very small island within Martha’s Vineyard.<\/p>\n

Ok so the self timer doesn’t work so great with a dog walking around and balancing the camera on top of your purse but I like this family photo anyway:<\/p>\n

Sunset in Menemsha had to be one of the best nights while we were there! \u00a0Lobster and clam chowder on the beach, watching the sunset and enjoying some wine. \u00a0It was just so perfect!<\/p>\n
