{"id":8385,"date":"2013-04-26T08:46:07","date_gmt":"2013-04-26T12:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.meridithdesmondphoto.com\/blog\/?p=8385"},"modified":"2013-04-26T08:46:07","modified_gmt":"2013-04-26T12:46:07","slug":"koos-a-queens-ny-family-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meridithdesmondphoto.com\/blog\/koos-a-queens-ny-family-session\/","title":{"rendered":"Koos &#8211; A Queens NY Family Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in October I had the wonderful opportunity of having a photography mentor session with Yan of <a href=\"http:\/\/yanphoto.com\" target=\"_blank\">Yan Photography<\/a>\u00a0while she was traveling to NYC. \u00a0I fell in love with her photography just over a year ago when I came across <a href=\"http:\/\/yanphoto.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">her blog<\/a> and spent oh I don&#8217;t know about 4 hours reading every single post:) \u00a0I wrote her an email and literally said, &#8220;I just read your entire blog, you may think I&#8217;m crazy but I love your work and want to do a mentor session.&#8221; \u00a0haha. \u00a0We talked for 8 hours about all things photography related, my goals, my business, and what I want out of life. \u00a0Big serious things that made me stop and think. \u00a0About work. \u00a0About life. \u00a0About family. \u00a0What do I really want out of this business and for my life? \u00a0Big scary things.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest goals for my business was to have it feel more like me, so along came the new website which shows my personality and I hope that you the client gets the opportunity to &#8220;get to know me&#8221; a bit through my website and blog before you ever even meet me in person. \u00a0Writing is not a strong point for me but I&#8217;m trying to gets words out of my head and onto the screen for you;) \u00a0Another goal is to capture the true, honest emotion between people- whether it be a couple on their wedding day or a family of 5 laughing and playing at the park and to only show this emotion on my blog and website. \u00a0I feel one of my biggest strengths as a photographer is knowing when to press the shutter to capture these special moments in your life. \u00a0I know for a lot of my clients that it&#8217;s not easy to be in front of the camera(heck I&#8217;m super shy in front of the lens too!) but I truly hope that I make you relax and become just a little bit more comfortable so you can just be yourself and we can create those memories for you together.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the day, both exhausted, me from listening and her from teaching, we photographed this quirky and fun family of 3 at their home in Queens, NY. \u00a0The little boy Koos was running all over the yard and having a ball!
