It’s been almost 2 years now since we traveled to Ireland, 2 years!\u00a0 What, where does the time go.\u00a0 In honor of St. Patrick’s day I thought I would blog about our trip there since it was before my blogging days.\u00a0 I wish I had my 5D markii<\/a> then, but that means I will just have to go back!<\/p>\n

We flew into Shannon and traveled all over the west coast of Ireland- drove over 1000 kilometers, and I wouldn’t do it any other way.\u00a0 It was a bit tricky with driving on the other side of the road there.\u00a0 We rented an automatic, which we debated over since we both drive stick, but in the end it was the best choice.\u00a0 Getting used to driving on the other side of the road is hard enough, much less sitting on the other side of the car and then having to shift with your other hand- too much.<\/p>\n

We arrived at like 6 am Sunday morning and drove to Dingle.\u00a0 Dingle was my favorite, I think, of all the places we went.\u00a0 Small town, beautiful landscape, friendly people, Guinness, good food, live music- can’t get much better.\u00a0 Chris wants to move there.\u00a0 Actually I’ve noticed that wherever we travel Chris wants to move there- ha!<\/p>\n

Some wind surfers out in the water-the water was freezing cold and very windy!\u00a0 Full hooded wetsuit required.<\/p>\n

Got to wear my wellies and splash around in the water- super fun!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\" Another Guinness?\u00a0 Don’t mind if I do.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

We drove around the Ring of Kerry and then on to Kinsale.\u00a0 This was the only time it rained- we were super lucky with the weather.\u00a0 Very foggy drive over the top of this mountain pass.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Yes I do wear glasses to see far away, especially reading road signs or for night driving.\u00a0 Usually I take them off when I don’t need them so I’m not sure why there are still on here?<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Kinsale is on the Southern coast and has some of the most beautifully colored painted homes ever.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Of course we had to stop at the Desmond Castle<\/a>– it was used as a prison back in the day\u00a0 but is now a museum.\u00a0 It was fun to visit and say we have a family castle- ha!\u00a0 Too bad we aren’t royalty.\"\"<\/p>\n

Tide was out and of course Chris had to climb down.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Cliffs of Mohr<\/a> have to be one of the most amazing sites I’ve ever seen.\u00a0 The height of these cliffs is unreal and totally remind me of the Princess Bride- my favorite movie ever:)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For perspective- those little black and red dots to the left of center are people.\u00a0 These cliffs were HUGE!\u00a0 Next time I would love to take the boat tour.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It was so, so windy on the top!\u00a0 They recently installed that wall, I guess to many people got too close to the edge.\u00a0 There were signs all over for a suicide helpline phone number.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Great lighting on the water- so beautiful.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n
