For some reason I wasn’t nervous. I knew I should be but I wasn’t. I have no idea why since it was my first time shooting a wedding but I just knew that I could do it. I had everything ready, planned and prepared- very much like me:) It also helped that Lori and Jason were so relaxed and trusted me completely! Thanks you guys- it meant so much to me that you chose me to capture your special day.
Chris went to high school with Lori so they go way back. I met her and Jason at a Jets game in the parking lot tailgating together with some other friends. One thing led to another, they liked my photography work so they decided a couple months ago to hire me as the photographer for their wedding. I was so excited I said yes right away! The BIG 10-10-10 day finally arrived and it was perfect. The sun was out, the weather amazing and Lori was beautiful in a dress that was exactly her style. Held in her Aunts backyard their close friends and family gathered to watch them exchange vows and dance the night away.
I loved the black detailing on her dress!
This next photo is one of my favorites from the day- love that the frame above the mirror says “dream”- how perfect!
I love the lighting in this one.
Lori and Jason did a sneak peak before the ceremony to take some photos together. Since the reception was immediately after the ceremony this gave them more time after wards to dance and have fun with friends and family.
One of the cutest flower girls ever- am I right?
Jason waiting for his bride. Chris took this one for me. I rented another camera body(just in case) and instead of just leaving it in the bag I asked him to use it and take pictures throughout the night. Not too bad! He got to drink on the job though so he had fun. He slept almost the entire way home.
Love this one of Jason’s Grandmother right after the ceremony. She was very emotional and loves Jason and Lori so much:)
I really like this one of Jason and his father. Those moments when people don’t think I’m taking their photo are the best shots!
With family portraits like these you know there are fun times ahead.
First dance as husband and wife and the father daughter dance- very emotional and so sweet.
Then came the big announcement from the bride and groom. They were already married and had gotten married exactly 1 year ago to the very day- this was actually their 1st anniversary party! They really surprised everyone! The only people who knew were their friends who also eloped with them, the wedding planner Carrie, and their accountant. Ha! Talk about a BIG secret and one that I would for sure not be able to keep. Everyone jumped into the middle of the dance floor into a big group hug. Let the party begin:) Look how excited Lori is to tell everyone! She likes to keep you on your toes.
Chris took this shot of the cake too.
Their friend sang for them during the reception- she has an amazing voice. Such a personal gift to the bride & groom.
These last few shots are my other favorites. Lori’s father and brother restored this car. I think they finished it the day before the wedding!
LOVE this one- he’s all like I got the girl what else do I need?
Congratulations Lori and Jason! Thank you so, so, so much for letting me document your day. Such a wonderful celebration of 2 people in love.
Happy 1 year and 4 day anniversary!
