My Walls

I’ve been meaning to blog some photos of the art we hung on our living room walls last month.  The light in this room is really bright in the early morning, and then fairly dark for the rest of the day so I haven’t had a good opportunity to get some photos until last week.

I’m not sure what to put to the left of the window yet and I may want to get a new lamp so I’m putting that off.  In addition there is slightly more space on the right side so it’s not symmetrical.  I do love the art on the right of the window!  That is a large print by Andy Davis you should check out his work if you like surf inspired art- he has some really fun and colorful artwork.  The smaller photo on top right is from the Hoboken Art and Music Fest and the print on the bottom right is by Mike Nemnich “Nemo” and you can see some of his other work here.  Chris actually got that print at Brave New World, a surf shop down the shore, before we even met and it goes well with all of our other surf art.  Can you tell we like the beach, summer and the ocean?

And yes we have a plum couch and I LOVE it!

The bookshelves are from Ikea but we didn’t staple the backs on because I like to see the wall through the shelves, however this makes them unsteady.  Not a good idea if you have kids or pets.

My parents got us this a few years ago- I think it’s cool they used photos of different architectural details to spell our name out.  Fun and personal!
