June 2011 Goals

Here is a review of my May Goals and I did get through quite a few but not all.  I was busier than I thought which is good:

  1. Revise my client contracts, this is #1 since I didn’t do it in April! *This is finally done- yay!  I think I kept procrastinating because this wasn’t very fun:)
  2. Create a second shooter contract- this one’s for you Nadya:) *Done as well.
  3. Sell my canon 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS lens a UV filter, and my 1st camera bag which fits a rebel body/kit lens if you’re interested!  *Lens/filter was sold via ebay.  Bag not sold, no one bid on it.  I’m going to give it to my neighbor who just bought an XSI kit
  4. re-organize my folders in my external hard drive so they actually make sense- why are price lists under the logo folder?? *Another tedious task but it’s done- good thing it rained a lot this month:)
  5. post on my blog the upstairs bath photos *Done and you can view the pics here.
  6. paint the downstairs bath vanity  *goes on the June list:)
  7. collect all the magazine quotes I’ve been saving, make a collage, frame and hang them  *bought the frame and cut out all the quotes, need to put it together so it’s 50% done!
  8. **a big maybe on this one**  remove the old ugly ditsy floral wallpaper from the downstairs bath and re-paint.  Chris would love it if I got this done!  Hoping the wallpaper comes off easily.  *Going on the June list
  9. buy some more succulents to fill in where mine died from the snow we had on April 1st- I don’t think they liked being outside in the cold and snowed on:(  It was warm the day before so I put them out to get some fresh air and sun, then it snowed:( * I added some that I had from other pots but didn’t buy new ones, needed to save some money here:)
  10. plant flowers in my hanging baskets for our porch *Done and you can see photos on my blog soon.
  11. buy some frames for some of our artwork we’ve collected and hang them- I’ve been eying these of different sizes:)  Chris will not want to go to Ikea with me so I will go 1st thing on a weekday morning to avoid all the crowds.  * not done but I will put this on hold for now to save money and I want to wait till I paint the master and guest bedrooms to see where I want to hang things.
  12. organize the basement shelves that are just a mess of what we threw up there when we moved in  *not done either but since we don’t have AC it’s way cooler in the basement so I may do this soon
  13. create a “how to print” guide & print release for my new DVD cases! *Done and you can see these products here.
  14. blog minimum 3 times a week!  Hope to over achieve here.  I’m hoping to blog everyday for one month at some point soon so this will be a good warm up.  *This one was hard, even with working from home.  3 out of 4 weeks isn’t bad.  I will try to keep this up in June!

Some other things Chris and I did around the house this month:

  • planted Dill, Basil and Tomatoes- can’t wait for summer eating!  Especially tomato salad- yum!
  • Took over the crazy vines in the middle of our backyard and made a rock border around the new flower bed.
  • Finally put a lot of trash out for bulk pick up day- our garage is so empty now:)
  • 2nd shot my first wedding of the season with Maggie, images coming soon.
  • Listed my business on Wedding Wire, Google, and Yelp– leave some love in the review section if you are a past client:)

And now for my June goals:

  1. remove the old ditsy wallpaper from the downstairs bath and paint the walls.  Since I didn’t get to this in May I thought why not add it to the June list but it may not get done till September:)
  2. blog minimum 3 times a week- keeping this one up from May!
  3. go to the beach at least once
  4. order a 7×7 inch sample wedding parent album to show my clients
  5. test out Animoto, I have a free 30 day trial!  Stay tuned for some fun slideshows.
  6. update my website & blog with photos of myself- This weekend Nadya will be taking some photos of me for this one!  I’m a little nervous- ha
  7. finish my wedding client sample website using images from Lori and Jason’s wedding I photographed last year.
  8. Find a creative way to use my access to personal client websites via Showit for my family clients- any ideas fellow Photogs out there?
  9. clean all the windows in my house that I don’t have to climb a 20 foot ladder for, inside and out!
  10. paint the downstairs 1/2 bath vanity
  11. organize the basement shelves
  12. Add client testimonials to my website- if you are a past client email me a few words about your experience and I will add them to my site.

Can’t wait to eat this again!
