The Dining Room

For those of you who don’t know Chris and I recently moved to a new(well 100 year old farm house but new to us!) home.  My 1st post you can find here with photos of the inside and the newly sanded floors.  Well we have almost finished the dining room!  I am still in need of a chandelier and we also need to paint the door that leads onto the side porch which you can see in the far right photo below.  Maybe I will get to painting the door this month since I have 6 days off of work for all the Jewish Holidays:)  I am excited about that- I need a break!  I also wanted to install one of those plaster ceiling medallions when we get a chandelier and maybe add curtains at some point down the line.

The hutch is from my Great Aunt and goes really well with the house!  I was thinking to paint it but Chris said I shouldn’t.  What do you think?

The table is my parents old, old kitchen table and the chairs were my grandmothers but we want to replace them and get a set of 8 chairs since the table opens up.  I also painted wide 1 foot stripes on the top portion of the walls with semi gloss paint in the same hue.  The ink drawing on the left is of our house and was given to use by our Realtor- it’s really nice!  I will have to get a better photo of that and post it.  The painting on the left I got on the street in Madrid when we went to go visit my sister when she was studying abroad there.

My mom got me this vase after our wedding- I love Kosta Boda!  I also have glasses with the same color in them that I got as a gift:)

This dresser now turned side buffet was sitting in our Hoboken basement and no one claimed it.  So we took it and after a major cleaning  it looks great.  Magic erasures work miracles!  I was thinking to paint this piece too but I’m not sure.

My succulent garden- so easy to care for!  Although I think they want to have more light than they get in this spot.  Winter will have more light for them since the leaves will fall off the trees.

More to come of the inside once we get to work again.  We needed a break:)

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to meeting you and your favorite people!

XOXO
