Scott’s Pizza Tour- NYC

Either this past Christmas or the one before we got my sister and Mike tickets to go on Scott’s NYC Pizza Tour.  It was one of the best gifts to give because Chris and I got to go along too:)  haha.  So now that we are “foodies” in my family we give gifts like this all the time- gift certificates for restaurants, Hoboken food tour(which we still have to do!), dinner at Grimaldi’s- (so yummy!) and an NYC boat cruise.  It’s fun because we experience these things together and have fun and lasting memories(cue sentimental music)- much better than some item you don’t really need anyway.

Anyway onto the Pizza tour.  SO if you ever come to NYC or live within driving distance of NYC and you want to eat 4 or 5 slices of the best pizza you will ever have you need to do this tour.  Enough said.  Plus Scott the owner/tour guide went to Syracuse(points for that:), is really personable, can talk for days about pizza and knows basically all you can know about pizza.  He was great!  Highly recommend this- there are 2 tours a walking tour or bus tour.  We took the bus tour so we got to start in Manhattan at Lombardi’s venture to Staten Island(which I may have to go back to just for the pizza at Salvatore of Soho and Nunzio’s) then the final stop was in Brooklyn at Sam’s.  We were full by the end but kinda wanted more!

All the pizza was so good but my favorite was Salvatore of Soho!  SO, SO crispy crust edge, fresh mozz, nice sauce, fresh basil- yumm!  I’m getting hungry just thinking about it:)  Enjoy the photos and don’t blame me if you want to eat pizza now.

We’re all ready to eat- even Mona Lisa:)

Lombardi’s was first and very, very good!

The day was perfect!

This is Scott- I think he eats more pizza than anyone in the world.  This is at Nunzio’s- nice string-y, cheesy pizza!

Salvatore of Soho was 3rd- so yummy!  And it goes well with a coke:)

I look scarey in this one- ha!

This is out of focus but still so funny!  We couldn’t stop laughing:)  This was at Salvatore’s- so good!

And last was Sam’s- thicker crust and still yummy!

Watch the slideshow for more pizza goodness!
